Under hösten 2024 har den brittiska konstnären och musikern Bel Gilbert Scott varit i residens hos Slite Industrimuseum. Under denna tid har hon utforskat ett sensoriskt och visuellt flöde mellan arkitektur, geologi, extraktion och olika upplevelser av förlust – både personliga och allmänna. Gilbert Scott har nyligen börjat lära sig att spela trumpet och utforskat hur klang möter struktur och fyller upp håligheter i industrilandskapet. Du är varmt välkommen att följa med och höra henne berätta om sin tid här.
Bel kommer från en familj av framstående arkitekter och är utbildad till scenisk målare. Vid sidan av sin egen praktik som konstnär har hon varit en del av ett antal musikaliska kollektiv, bland annat Pauline and the Matches.

BELINDA GILBERT SCOTT - in conversation with Birthe Jørgensen, chairman of Konstfrämjandet Gotland.
During the fall of 2024, the British artist and musician Bel Gilbert Scott has been in residence at Slite Industrimuseum. During this time she has explored a sensory and visual flow between architecture, geology, extraction and various experiences of loss – both personal and public. Gilbert Scott has recently started learning to play the trumpet and explores how tunes meets structures and fills voids in the industrial landscape. You are warmly welcome to come along and hear her talk about her time here.
Bel comes from a family of prominent architects and is trained as a scenic painter. Alongside her own practice as an artist, she has been part of a number of musical collectives, including Pauline and the Matches.
