As part of our exhibition From the Future to the Present at our federal chancellery in Stockholm, Konstfrämjandet invites you to attend a third and final talk over a joint lunch. This time we will be joined by Konstfrämjandet Gotlands ordförrande Birthe Jørgensen for a digital presentation about the exhibition I DIN TID.
On Friday, March 28, we will meet at Konstfrämjandet's federal office in Stockholm to jointly take part in a digital presentation by Birthe Jørgensen, who together with Angelica Blomhage, Verksamhetsansvarig at Gotlands Art Museum curated the exhibition project I DIN TID along the veteran railway on Gotland. During February and March 2025, fragments of the exhibition are presented in the window of our federal chancellery, from the work Night Stay by Ukrainian artist Katya Buchatska, and the lecture From the Future to the Present by Ukrainian writer and curator Borys Filonenko.
In the presentation, Jørgensen will take us through how the exhibition grew out of a period of collective learning where local, national and international artists, curators and train enthusiasts came together to explore themes such as the history of the train and industry, the relationship between city and country, aspects of time, the ambiguity of nostalgia and interdimensional communication. This period included sitevists, workshops with specially invited guests, some from the group taking part in a foundation course for driving veteran trains, and culminated in the day long seminar New Nature as part of Almedalsveckans official program in 2024.
We will also see examples of the resulting artworks, and hear about the exhibitions associated events program.
I DIN TID was led by Konstfrämjandet Gotland in collaboration with Gotlands Artmuseum and Gotlandståget, with the support of BAC.
The presentation is about 45 minutes long.

Gotlandståget
The Gotland railway is a 6.5 km long narrow-gauge vintage railway that stretches from Hesselby/Dalhem to Roma on Gotland. The association was formed in Hesselby in 1972 with the desire to be able to establish a living railway museum. The ambition was to be able to run Gotland trains in an authentic environment and create an illusion of a bygone era. The association Gotlandståget wants to give people an opportunity to travel through time where you can experience a breath of a bygone era through all of your different senses.
